Sam Allard will join Axios to help launch a Cleveland newsletter as part of a major expansion plan in local reporting nationwide.
Allard will join on Nov. 14.
For more than nine years, Allard was a staff writer at Ohio-based alternative weekly newspaper The Cleveland Scene. Previously, he was a fellow at the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project.
He was a book critic at the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Allard has a B.S. in journalism from Northwestern University and a master’s degree from Cleveland State University.
