David Krause, editor of The Aspen Times since 2017 has stepped down from his post.
In an exit column on Monday, Krause pointed to new ownership by The Ogden Newspapers, a national publishing company in West Virginia, as the primary driver of his departure, in addition to health reasons.
Prior to joining the Times, Krause was deputy city editor at The Denver Post. There, he helped coordinate coverage of the environment, education, transportation and the Denver suburbs. He previously served as deputy sports editor.
He was also executive producer/sports at KUSA-TV, the NBC-affiliate TV station in Denver, Colorado.
Krause graduated from the University of Oklahoma.
