Ashton joins CalMatters as a deputy news editor

Adam Ashton

Adam Ashton has joined CalMatters as deputy news editor. Recently, he was an assistant managing editor at The Sacramento Bee.

During more than six years at the Bee, he also held the posts of senior writer and Capitol bureau chief.

He was a military reporter at The News Tribune and a reporter on McClatchy’s foreign staff. He was also a news assistant at The Associated Press.

Ashton has a B.A. from San Francisco State University.
