Rob O’Dell, a senior investigative and data reporter at The Arizona Republic has left. O’Dell’s tweet reads:
“I am taking the company’s voluntary severance offer. I am switching careers — I am part way through a master’s degree program in business analytics. I will be pivoting from using data to drive investigative reporting to using data to help businesses grow and thrive. I’m incredibly proud of my 10 years at the Arizona Republic doing journalism that had impact statewide and nationally. It’s the longest I have stayed in any job.”
Previously, he was a City Hall reporter and computer assisted reporter at the Arizona Daily Star. He was an adjunct professor at The University of Arizona.
O’Dell has a B.A. in newspaper journalism from Syracuse University and a M.S. from Arizona State University.
