AP hires Komenda to cover Washington state government

Ed Komenda

Ed Komenda will join The Associated Press to cover state government and general assignment stories in Washington state, based in Olympia.

Komenda begins in May.

Currently, he is an enterprise and investigations editor at Gannett | USA Today Network, where he edits for the Reno Gazette Journal and USA Today Network.

His last day at the Gannett | USA Today Network will be April 14.

Komenda joined in 2019 as a Las Vegas reporter. Previously, he also reported for Shaw Media, DNAinfo and the Las Vegas Sun.

Komenda has a B.A. in English from Western Illinois University.
