TV news reporter Anya Tucker, who has spent nearly a quarter century in the news business and 17 of those years at Albany’s WTEN is leaving the station and the news business, the station announced Tuesday.

Tucker is moving on from the station to a career outside of news, she said in a story on the station’s site.

“But before I go, I’d like to express how proud I am to have enjoyed a such long and exciting run,” Tucker said, according to the station.

Tucker previously worked in Lansing, Mich., before moving to WTEN and the Capital Region.

She’s an Emmy and Regional Edward R. Murrow award winner “best known for her intimate style of storytelling and a gentle approach when it comes to victims of crime” the station wrote.

Tucker is leaving the station to take a communications position with the state.
