Sara Abdulla will join The Washington Post Opinions as a senior editor. An excerpt from the announcement reads:
“Abdulla comes from Nature, the global science journal, where she has been Chief Opinion Editor for the last 15 years. She will be based in London.
“In addition to her role overseeing Nature’s columns, comment, book reviews and obituaries, Abdulla put the journal’s work on new platforms and broadened the range of voices that appear in its pages and on its screens.
“She has overseen the creation of a list of popular science books, taught science journalism and reported for The Financial Times, The Times of London and The Lancet. She has a degree in math and a graduate degree in crystallography. She also wrote theater reviews for Time Out in London. She begins her role in January.”
