The Washington Post has appointed David Malitz senior culture editor, features. An excerpt from the announcement reads:
In this new position, David will edit important enterprise about the culture we consume, how it is shaping us and the driving forces behind it. His mission will be to cultivate and develop high-impact, engaging journalism about culture from all artistic disciplines, building on the glorious legacy of Style as a premier home for sharp and incisive writing.”
Recently, he served as interim executive features editor.
Malitz joined the Post in 2004 as a part-time producer. He also wrote about music for Weekend and Style. He was named pop culture editor in 2012 and since 2014, served as deputy features editor.
Malitz graduated from the University of Maryland.
