The New York Times has promoted Brian Hoerst to senior editor, digital storytelling and training, a role within Newsroom Development and Support.
Based in London, Hoerst has been with the Times for more than eight years. During this time, he held posts as news assistant, senior news assistant, news technology specialist and senior staff editor for news technology.
As per the Times:
“Brian will take on an even bigger international role from the London newsroom while expanding his presence in training that touches the newsroom at large.
“He will shape and lead efforts that help the newsroom adopt new tools and skills and will take a more active role in the cultural transformation of the newsroom in collaboration with his NDS teammates.”
Hoerst graduated from the Ohio State University.
