WSJ visual editor Bentley departs for new opportunity

Elliot Bentley, visual editor for business news at The Wall Street Journal, has left to join Datawrapper as a senior data visualization developer.

Bentley’s tweet reads:

“I’ve been an admirer of their work for a long time and I’m excited to focus on building amazing tools that enable great journalism. Oh yeah, and in other big life news I am moving back to the UK! Britain-based friends plz slide into my DMs, let’s hang out!”

Bentley was based in New York. He had been with the Journal for more than eight years. He joined in 2014 as a graphics editor in London.

Bentley has a bachelor’s degree from Newcastle University.
