Insider president Barbara Peng sent out the following to the staff:
Team,
We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve named Jess Liebman our new Chief People Officer at Insider Inc.
Since joining Insider in 2010, and currently serving as our Global Managing Editor, Jess has built Insider’s managing editor organization and people operations for our newsroom from the ground up, scaling a 15-person tech focused team to a 650+ global news organization. She has been invaluable to our editorial team, serving as a key player that has helped to forge Insider into a highly impactful, sustainable, and award-winning newsroom.
Among her many accomplishments in her decade-plus at Insider, Jess spearheaded building a learning and development team to help journalists grow in their careers, launched a powerhouse recruiting organization for the newsroom, and developed a thriving fellowship program with more than 130 fellows annually, many of whom go on to full-time roles at Insider.
In her new role, Jess will bring the creativity and rigor she brought to our newsroom to our entire company. Her mission will be to continue to strengthen our team and culture, including our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. She will continue to innovate and build our capabilities to support our ambitious future growth plans.
Jess will also lead People & Culture at Insider Intelligence and will bring the two P&C teams closer together while leaning into their complementary strengths. In addition, she will continue to work closely with the Managing Editor team.
As we enter this exciting new period, I want to give a big thank you to Nailah and our People & Culture team for their continued great work and helping to make Insider an even better place to be each day.
Please join me in congratulating Jess on her new role!
Barbara
