The Wall Street Journal is looking for a second reporter to join its Chicago-based team covering the Midwest—a vast range of territory from Pennsylvania to the Dakotas and Minnesota to Arkansas.
We’re looking for an enterprising reporter ready to crank out a quick story in the morning and jump on a plane in the afternoon to the latest hotspot, whether it’s a flood, tornado or civil unrest.
The ideal candidate will have at least three years’ experience at a major newspaper or the online equivalent and be a quick study, a people person and a strong story teller.
The reporter will develop a base of sources within law-enforcement and first responders and aim to break news before, during and after the next disaster strikes. Experience with video, photography, social media and grace under pressure strongly encouraged.
