The Wall Street Journal seeks a European Banking Editor to lead its writing and thinking on European banks.
This is a marquee position for a reporter-editor ready to dominate a competitive beat. The European Banking Editor will write widely on banking across the continent, including Europe’s domestic giants and the European operations of global banks.
The beat includes policy, regulation and the goings-on of some of the world’s most influential financial institutions, at a time when Europe is struggling to emerge from a years-long crisis.
The European Banking Editor will supervise London-based banking reporters and coordinate coverage from reporters around the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Experience with banking or finance is a plus but not essential. A first-class reporter with a record of scoops and features in another area could flourish here
