The Wall Street Journal is seeking an editor to lead coverage of European financial markets.
The position is based in London, a global capital for trading in stocks, bonds and currencies. Our markets team reports on the ups and downs, booms and busts, winners and losers. We explain what’s driving prices higher, why investors are selling off, and where the smart money is headed next.
The high-profile role requires an editor who thrives under the pressure of real-time reporting, with the ability to step back and tell riveting stories too.
The successful candidate will be a highly-motivated self-starter, capable of leading a team of energetic journalists. Knowledge of the major financial markets is a benefit; strong editing skills and the capacity to conceptualize tales for all of the Journal’s print and digital platforms are a must.
The Europe Markets editor will report to the Europe Financial Editor and work closely with Journal colleagues across EMEA and in Asia and the U.S.
Please note only candidates requested for interview will be contacted.
