WSJ seeks deputy banking editor

The Wall Street Journal is seeking a deputy editor to help drive coverage of big banks, Wall Street, financial technology and the changing nature of money.

The Journal’s banking team covers Wall Street stalwarts like Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase, as well as the fast-growing financial technology startups trying to disrupt them.

As deputy banking editor, you’ll get to explore topics as varied as the unruly world of cryptocurrencies, leadership shakeups at the world’s biggest banks and the changing competitive landscape for regional and community lenders.

This position offers a chance to play a key role in covering some of the most consequential and fascinating issues facing the U.S. financial system.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable handling breaking news, editing ambitious long-form features and coaching reporters to produce their best work. We’re also looking for someone who’s excited about exploring new and emerging storytelling formats. We’ll consider both journalists with editing experience and experienced reporters looking to make a switch.
