A story in the Stockton Record states, “‘It is with a heavy heart I’m announcing the close of the Central Valley Business Journal,’ Publisher Sharon Alley-Calone wrote in an email to employees obtained by The Record. ‘This was a very difficult decision to reach.’
“The monthly business publication, located on Feather River Drive in northwest Stockton, covered business news in San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Merced counties in both print and online.
“Alley-Calone’s 104-word statement did not disclose a reason for the closure, only that she is looking to retire and pursue other opportunities.
“Alley-Calone and Editor Marc Lutz did not respond to messages left by The Record seeking comment Wednesday. It is unclear how many people were employed, received a subscription and when the decision was made.”
