We are looking for a creative reporter who can pierce the corporate veil of one of the world’s most secretive and influential companies. The ideal candidate will produce a steady stream of market-moving news while executing ambitious, long-form stories about the company, its culture and ambitions. Candidates should have seven or more years of experience in high-stakes business or tech reporting, with a portfolio that demonstrates the ability to land definitive stories on major companies that resonate globally.
You Will
- Maintain a track record of enviable scoops that reveal Amazon’s internal strategy and decision-making.
- Be deeply sourced across the company’s executive ranks and workforce writ large
- Develop original enterprise stories and deep-dive investigations into Amazon’s business practices and societal impact.
- Find smart, unexpected insights that advance major breaking news events and regulatory developments.
- Work with colleagues across bureaus to conceive and execute complex projects and multimedia series.
You Have
- At least seven years of professional journalism experience covering major corporate beats, preferably tech.
- A demonstrated ability to separate from the pack and find original angles on stories the entire world is watching.
- The metabolism to deliver a steady cadence of quick-turn news while advancing enterprise work
- The persistence and skill required to unearth fresh, high-stakes stories through aggressive sourcing and document diving.
- A collaborative spirit and a desire to partner with visual, data, and investigative teams to win on the biggest stories.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with colleagues in other offices and time zones
- Experience navigating complex legal and sensitive corporate environments is a plus.
