The Wall Street Journal is seeking a dogged and perspicacious correspondent to cover Israel and the Palestinian Territories and the broader Middle East.
The reporter would be expected to bring new insights to a heavily scrutinized conflict between Israelis and Palestinians, but also to keep a sharp eye out for surprising stories to tell beyond the tense co-existence of these two neighbors.
One of the more alluring subjects is Israel’s warming ties with a historically hostile Arab world; another is Israel’s booming technology sector spinning off leading global firms; and yet another is the Trump administration’s intimate relationship with Israel and its prime minister, who is fighting for his political life.
The correspondent would be expected to engage in coverage beyond Israel as part of the Journal’s Middle East bureau. Hostile environment reporting is desired but not essential, as is Hebrew or Arabic.
