WSJ seeks a markets news editor in London

The Wall Street Journal is looking for a high-metabolism markets news editor to join our finance team in London.

This position sits at the heart of Live Markets, the WSJ’s flagship venue for daily markets coverage. We are building and growing this ambitious new digital offering to bring news, analysis and ideas to readers throughout the day—at the tempo of the ever-changing financial markets. Stocks, bonds, crypto, commodities, regulation, the intersection of central banks and markets, are all topics that our readers care about deeply.

You will:

  • Commission, edit, and publish for Live Markets
  • Curate our Live Markets ‘front page’
  • Work with reporters to unearth the vital news, events and ideas in financial markets
  • Experiment with publishing tools and work with platform colleagues on getting our great coverage in front of readers

You have:

  • Experience editing or covering financial markets
  • Digital publishing skills, including tools such as WordPress
  • Ability to spin multiple plates at a time without losing your cool
  • Skill at writing pithy ledes and enticing headlines
