Shayndi Raice, foreign editor at CBS News, sent out the following on Wednesday:
Hi everyone,
As we continue to invest and grow our foreign news coverage, I’m thrilled to announce that Dov Lieber is joining the team as a senior reporter based in Israel. He’ll begin at CBS News in September.
Dov joins us from The Wall Street Journal, where he is a correspondent covering Israel and the Palestinian territories. He has lived and reported in Israel since 2012 and speaks fluent Hebrew and Arabic.
At the Journal, Dov became known for breaking news and delivering exclusive reporting, drawing on an extensive network of sources within Israel’s political and security establishments.
Dow also brings the kind of deep, thoughtful analysis that helps audiences understand not only what is happening, but why it matters. His experience spans the major issues shaping the region, including Israeli politics and security, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the ongoing confrontation with Iran.
His reporting instincts, source network and deep knowledge of the region will be an asset to all of us at CBS News — particularly at a time when events in the Middle East are increasingly important to our audience.
Please join me in welcoming him to the team.
Best,
Shayndi
