WSJ seeks a housing reporter

November 26, 2019

Posted by Chris Roush

The Wall Street Journal is looking for an experienced and agile reporter to cover the U.S. housing market. You will find distinctive, original stories, deftly mixing knowledge of data and policies with on-the-ground reporting in communities across the country.

Housing stories are consistently among the Journal’s best-read and hit the intersection of real estate, the economy and finance. This beat offers an enterprising reporter the chance to delve into economics, local politics, immigration trends, emerging technologies, and anything else that is determining where people want to live and is driving home prices.

Some background in the subject matter is helpful but not necessary. You should have a passion for the subject and a demonstrated ability to break news, generate story ideas, and translate in-depth reporting into compelling storytelling accessible to a broad readership.

You should be eager to collaborate with other reporters across bureaus and welcome the opportunity for travel.

This job will be based in New York and reports to the Real Estate Bureau Chief.
