Wirecutter is looking for writers  timely pieces on trending products and services, product reviews, product launches, and seasonal frames for beats like outdoor gear, tech, home, and style.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Wirecutter is a product recommendation service on the internet that tests and reports on items to recommend the best of everything. Its goal is to save you time and eliminate the stress of shopping, whether you’re looking for everyday gear or gifts for loved ones.

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN SUBMISSION

  • Begin your subject line with “Freelance Pitch” so I can be sure to see it. Example: Freelance Pitch — Everything to Know Before Buying Your First Pair of Roller Skates
  • Write a short introduction about yourself
  • A brief summary of what the piece will be covering and any expertise you have on the topic. This can be a few sentences to a few paragraphs.
  • Include a paragraph highlighting your writing experience, relevant credentials and publication credits
  • Attach links to your strongest work or portfolio, and online profile.
  • Feel free to send along your portfolio or a few clips with your pitch.

COMPENSATION

  • Rates typically start at $300 and can increase depending on the work involved.
