Wall Street Journal seeks economic data reporter

The Washington, D.C., bureau of The Wall Street Journal is seeking an entry-level reporter to cover economic data in the nation’s capital. This beat involves a wide range of market-sensitive news in a fast-paced environment. Speed, accuracy and enthusiasm for learning business and economics reporting are essential.

The reporter will gain expertise in handling economic data reports and Federal Reserve and Treasury news for all of our platforms, including the print Wall Street Journal, wsj.com, Dow Jones Newswires, WSJ Pro Central Banking, video, podcasts, newsletters and social media. Some travel and early hours are likely to help cover Federal Reserve and Treasury officials at events. We offer hands-on training and mentoring, with an emphasis on storytelling, data analysis and specialized software for economic data.

The reporter would work collaboratively with reporters on our Washington team, as well as colleagues in New York, around the country and overseas. Teamwork is essential. We offer an exciting and supportive work environment and the opportunity to work closely with talented colleagues.
