Wall Street Journal seeks a marketing reporter

January 24, 2019

Posted by Chris Roush

The Wall Street Journal’s CMO Today is looking for a reporter to cover marketers at a time of massive change for the industry.

Big brands are pursuing their consumers wherever they go, often exposing themselves to the whims of Silicon Valley and attacks by fraudsters in the process. They’re navigating political crosswinds, restructuring the way they work with ad agencies, and experimenting with ad tech and AI.

This reporter will bring these stories to CMO Today’s audience of professional marketers by developing sources deep inside and around both big companies and startups and delivering scoops on the next big moves that could change marketing. We’re looking for someone to both write high-impact enterprise stories and work close to the ground, reporting frequently on the news of the day that matters to marketers.

Successful candidates will have experience covering a business beat. An ability to understand and tell accessible stories about complex subjects like ad fraud is essential. Facility with data and visuals is a significant plus.

This position is based in New York and reports to the editor of CMO Today, Nat Ives.
