The Lever is looking for a diligent and resourceful climate reporter with a track record of delivering impactful investigative stories that shed light on the fight to preserve a livable planet — and hold accountable the corporations and politicians making the crisis worse.
The reporter will use record requests, subject-matter expertise, and a deep well of sources to generate vital investigative scoops and expose the obstacles to climate action. And they will have the writing chops to turn their reporting into clear, compelling stories that facilitate change.
Candidates who have a history of groundbreaking reporting related to the environment, climate, science, or energy will be considered. The reporter will be expected to file roughly a story a week, with the opportunity to develop and deliver longer deep-dive reports. This is a fully remote and full-time, salaried position with benefits including a generous health care stipend, office expense reimbursements, and paid time off.
Salary Range: $60,000-$80,000
