The Ark, located in Tiburon, Calif., is seeking a full-time beat reporter.
The Belvedere, Strawberry and public-safety beat reporter:
- Should be a sharp and enthusiastic self-starter for reporting and writing news and feature stories on a wide range of topics from government, policing and housing to personal profiles.
- Is expected to develop sources
- Should generate story ideas
- Be able to break news while thinking critically
- Challenge sources for high-impact accountability journalism, even for seemingly routine meeting coverage.
- Have a bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field, and/or have background as a news reporter for a college or professional news publication.
The position is full-time hybrid, working in the office, on location and from home, and requires evening work several times a month to cover board meetings, as well as rare weekend work.
The salary is $50,000 per year — $24.04/hour
You must reside within 30 minutes of our office or be willing to relocate within four to five weeks of an offer.
