  • Sorting through and properly distributing mail sent to the editorial department
  • Coordinating departmental meetings and events
  • Taking on additional journalistic tasks, such as fact-checking, writing, or contributing to the engagement team, depending on the coordinator’s journalistic interests and/or the needs of the department

Successful candidates will possess the following skills/abilities:

  • Exemplary organizational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to be self-directed and manage one’s time well across multiple recurring responsibilities

Education/experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism or an otherwise relevant field
  • Prior experience in journalism through an internship, job, and/or student publication

Application process:

If you are interested in this position, please fill out this application form by January 8, 2024. Applications will be considered only if they are submitted through that form. Your cover letter should include the following information:

  • Why you want to work at Texas Monthly
  • What type of journalistic experiences (writing, reporting, fact-checking, editing, etc.) you have had, and what skills you’re more interested in developing
