The Weeklies Editor is responsible for the overall editorial content of the company’s weekly newspapers in northern Illinois. The editor will work with a team of up to 10 journalists, including reporters, editors, and photographers, to produce high-quality, engaging journalism that informs and entertains readers. The editor is responsible for the overall editorial content of the group with a focus on appealing to local readers and growing a digital audience. The editor also will be responsible for developing and implementing editorial strategies that will help the newspapers grow their audience and reach.
We are looking for someone with a passion for local news and good judgment. The editor also must have a strong track record of meeting deadlines, good decision-making, and solid editing skills.
