The award-winning San Antonio Express-News Business section is seeking an oil and gas reporter to cover drilling, refining and everything in between.
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience covering the industry and a knack for retelling the personal stories of the roughnecks and royalty owners who benefit – and suffer – at the hands of big drillers. They will also will be able to turn around clean, quick stories in real time for our digital publications as well as long-form enterprise articles for print.
The beat also encompasses all of the regulatory, financial, legal and environmental issues surrounding Texas’ largest industry. The reporter will be responsible for company coverage of San Antonio’s refiners Andeavor and Valero, pipeline company NuStar as well as local driller Abraxas and service firm Pioneer Energy Services, among other companies.
