Reuters seeks global tech editor in San Francisco

Reuters is seeking a global technology editor to oversee worldwide coverage of a powerful and dynamic industry that plays an ever-growing role in the international economy and in the lives of everyday people.

From behemoths like Microsoft and Apple that shape how we work and play, to the disruptors shaking up everything from transportation to hospitality, to the Silicon Valley start-ups plotting the Next Big Thing, the “technology story” is in many ways the story of our time.

We need an editor with the knowledge, energy and vision to tell this story in a fresh and compelling way. The successful candidate, who will be working with Reuters reporters and editors around the world, will be a proven leader and experienced editor equally comfortable handling fast-breaking news and deep enterprise reporting.

You think big and you sweat the small stuff. The job demands well-honed story-telling skills, sharp news judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively across time zones and continents.

Qualifications

At least 10 years of editing experience, preferably at a major news organization, with a focus on business and technology.
