Reuters seeks ag and energy policy reporter

Reuters is looking for an ambitious Agriculture, Energy and Climate Policy Reporter to join its Commodities & Energy Policy team in Washington, DC.

The reporter will be expected to cultivate an excellent source network across both government and industry to break news on U.S. biofuels policy, farm subsidies, trade issues, pesticide and seed regulation, and the nexus of climate, energy and agriculture. An ideal candidate will have an outstanding track record developing sources and breaking important news stories, a passion for uncovering new facts, and a knack for explaining their broader significance for a global audience.

You will have: 

  • At least 5 years’ experience in journalism
  • A track record of reporting and writing ambitious, exclusive and high-impact stories
  • An ability to cultivate sources and gain access to exclusive documents
  • Strong news judgement
  • Experience using multimedia elements to enhance stories

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
