Reuters is seeking an exceptional Legal Affairs Columnist to join its U.S. Legal News team. The successful candidate will work as a member of a team of expert legal journalists producing content for the online news platform of Thomson Reuters’ flagship legal product Westlaw.

The columnist will provide must-read commentary on the legal profession — from trends and developments in the law to the business of law. We are looking for a writer with access to the top attorneys and legal experts and with a zeal for tackling complex subjects with original thinking and engaging writing.

This job provides flexibility to work from anywhere in the U.S. – the work does not need to be performed in one of our offices.

As a Legal Affairs Columnist, you will:

  • Research and write regular columns that drive the conversation among attorneys about the top issues in the law and the legal profession
  • Develop contacts with top law firm attorneys, in-house counsel and legal experts
  • Present ideas in fresh and interesting ways
  • Be available for public speaking and to participate in podcasts and video interviews
