Radio Free Asia is seeking a versatile, creative, and motivated Video Journalist capable of explaining and uncovering Asia for a global audience to create and edit video stories for RFA’s English language website and social media platforms
Responsibilities:
- Taking on video assignments independently – from shaping, pitching, and developing ideas, to filming and writing text components – until completion
- Working on other pieces as assigned for the website and social media platforms
- Working with editors and writers, assigning shootings to complement articles and special reports
- Working with the Investigative, Creative and English teams, as well as other editors to develop strong video stories
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in editorial video production, conceptualization, and assigning
- Excellent news judgment and a passion for visual journalism
- Demonstrated ability in video storytelling
- Strong computer and digital skills
- Familiarity with web tools and video editing programs
- An understanding of mobile-first experience and design
- Fluency in English and preferably one of RFA’s broadcast languages
