Quartz seeks a reporter to cover the future of finance, writing news and enterprise stories on the ways in which technology is transforming currencies, payments, finance, and banking.

You would be part of the growing Quartz team based in New York, and help shape our efforts to take bracingly creative approaches to covering business news.

The central challenge of this job: Developing fresh ways to dig up news and data and quickly translate them into provocative articles that deliver real insights to our readers.

Our future of finance coverage spans a broad range of finance and technology topics, from digital currencies to the intersection of electronic trading and investing, to the future of banking services.

We are looking for journalists with professional reporting experience, facility with data, an entrepreneurial approach to their work, and the ability to convey curiosity and humor in their writing.

The reporters should have a track record in—and passion for—framing and writing stories with social potential. And they should feel comfortable with using formats other than 700-word articles (such as shorter pieces, photos, and charts) when they’re better for efficiently getting a story across. International experience and languages are a plus.

To apply, please submit a cover letter, resume, and five links to relevant work. The links matter most.
