Call for pitches. As ever Positive News is bucking the trend, this time by increasing its online editorial budget. So I’m after uplifting, fun, solutions-focused story ideas.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Positive News is a magazine for good journalism about good things. Positive News is the first media organization in the world that is dedicated to quality, independent reporting about what’s going right. Positive News is a pioneer of ‘constructive journalism’—a new approach in the media, which is about rigorous and relevant journalism that is focused on progress, possibility, and solutions.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

I’m after sparky news features mainly, which are around the 500 word mark, but longer features of up to 800 words would be considered. We also have the quarterly print magazine, of course, which has a bigger budget. I will share suitable pitches with the editor.

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN SUBMISSION

  • Write a short introduction about yourself
  • Include a paragraph highlighting your writing experience, relevant credentials and publication credits
  • Attach links to your strongest work or portfolio, and online profile.

  • ~33 – 40 cents per word.
