Politico seeks labor reporter in DC

Politico is looking for an experienced reporter to cover labor and employment issues in Washington. The ideal candidate will have expertise covering labor and employment specifically and economics more generally.

A knowledgeable grasp of the broader political scene is also desirable. This job requires versatility — especially an ability to write quick, breaking news items as well as broader investigative and explanatory articles.

Qualifications

Four years’ experience working for a professional news organization; ability to write clearly and accurately on deadline; proven ability to handle a demanding, fast-moving reporting job.

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
