Pacific Coast Business Times seeks a tech and agribusiness reporter

Pacific Coast Business Times, the weekly business journal for Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties, is looking for a staff writer to cover technology, agribusiness and the innovation culture on California’s Central Coast.

We are an emerging technology hub with a history of successful IPOs, a strong life sciences sector led by Amgen and major outposts for Google, Amazon, Microsoft and others.
Candidates should have experience in business reporting as well as skills in online publishing, social media and photography.

The cost of housing in our area is high and applicants should take that into account. We expect a successful candidate to relocate to the Santa Barbara area as soon as practical, given the public health risks.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
