Pacific Coast Biz Times seeks finance/real estate reporter

Pacific Coast Business Times, the weekly business media company based in Santa Barbara, Calif., is looking for a staff writer who can cover commercial real estate, financial services, hotels/hospitality and related beats in three counties that are magnets for wealth and global tourism.

You will be covering an area that attracts corporate headquarters and hosts some of the largest independent banks in California. Candidates should have a strong grounding in finance and commercial real estate basics; knowledge of the hotel business is helpful.

Enthusiasm and flexibility in adapting to the extremely high cost of housing is a plus.

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
