NY Times’s DealBook seeks a newsletter editor in London

DealBook, The New York Times’s business news platform for C-level decision-makers, policy officials and everyone who intersects with them, is looking for a newsletter editor in London.

This editor will be a crucial team member in the reimagining and relaunch of DealBook in the coming months.

Candidates should be seasoned business journalists, experienced in writing and editing stellar financial and economic policy stories. They must additionally be comfortable with the ever-changing nature of digital media and preferably an expert in the newsletter medium.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with reporters and other editors in New York, Hong Kong and other bureaus to source, write, edit and promote original and timely journalism for the targeted audience of business leaders

Edit and publish the DealBook newsletter and stories on the corresponding online experience

Continuously improve and promote the Dealbook experience across platforms, with particular focus on the newsletter, using analytics, research and other audience insights

Create or oversee the creation of original graphics and other engaging visuals for the newsletter, onsite experience and social media

Requirements:

3 years in business journalism

Experience in overseeing newsletters or other digital products at a media company

Demonstrated experience of the effective use of web and newsletter analytics for improving products and growing audiences

Solid understanding of business graphics

Knowledge of content-management systems and the desire to gain expertise in new and emerging publishing and platform tools

Strategic thinking, solid news judgement, ability to work and communicate effectively with team members based in multiple time zones
