New York Times seeks Apple reporter

The tech industry is underpinned by behemoth companies, led by the biggest of them all: Apple.

The New York Times is seeking an ambitious and wide-ranging reporter to cover Apple’s big personalities, game-changing products and the company’s broader effects on society, jobs, supply chains, privacy, digital security and more. Apple is ever more interesting as it has entered a different and more mature phase, so candidates should not only be game and able to cover the core stories, but also be able to think creatively about this high-profile beat, to source energetically, and to take a fearless approach to coverage.

Applicants should be interested and curious about technology and its many tentacles, be enthusiastic and creative about visual and digital storytelling, and have several years of experience reporting on technology. Candidates should be highly motivated, collegial and collaborative, and a self-starter. Applicants should submit a resume, examples of previous work, and a memo outlining their vision for the job.

This guild position, open to internal and external candidates, is based in San Francisco.
