“Mornings with Maria” seeks booker/researcher

“Mornings with Maria” is the smartest conversation in the morning.

Anchor Maria Bartiromo and her team are committed to covering the most important business and political news stories of the day. From Silicon Valley to Wall Street to the White House and even across the pond, Maria, alongside a rotating panel of experts, talk to viewers about issues that matter.  We are looking for a talented Booker/Research to join the team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Booking guests, particularly during breaking news
  • Coordinating and producing segments, as well as reporter hits
  • Researching a wide range of topics and their economic impact
  • Conducting pre-interviews with high-profile guests
  • Cutting video, sound and writing copy
  • Pitching stories weekly

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree and or relevant work experience
  • 4+ years of experience in television production
  • Strong writing skills and editorial judgement
  • A passion for current events
  • Ability to work overnight hours

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
