The Great Falls Tribune is seeking a reporter to cover the business beat in north central Montana.

This reporter must be adept at taking photos and video and will file quickly across platforms: mobile, desktop and social media.

This reporter is expected to develop enterprise and investigative work. Database skills are a plus.

This reporter will use live chats, social media, video and other tools to replace or supplement traditional story forms. He or she will use metrics to understand what’s resonating with readers and will shape coverage to steadily increase audience. Duties include writing compelling headlines and employing SEO best practices to draw in readers.

Days and hours can vary, with some evening and weekend shifts. Flexibility is needed for this role. This report will be expected to cover one or more additional beats, such as county government.

Candidates must have a college degree and prior professional journalism experience or significant internship experience. Demonstration of sound news judgment and the ability to work independently when necessary is a plus.

The Great Falls Tribune is a Pulitzer Prize winner. We reach readers across the state with our daily Great Falls Tribune editions, our award-winning greatfallstribune.com website and various nondaily publications.
