Mic is looking for a highly motivated, passionate senior writer to join our Money team. The senior money writer will write, podcast and appear in video — and be able to excel across all mediums. This applicant should have experience covering a money beat — and interest in personal finance, business or any type of explanatory financial journalism.
Requirements:
- Ability to create clean, high-quality copy under tight deadlines
- Experience with and a passion for original reporting — and a knack for pitching ideas that other publications aren’t already chasing
- Have a stable of sources
- Interest in appearing on camera
- Social media savvy, able to monitor Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Reddit, and wherever else news for breaking and trending story opportunities can be found
- Comfortable with data-driven storytelling
- Quick learner with ability to perform well in high-pressure situations
- Eager to experiment and create new story formats
