MarketWatch seeks an enterprising, 21st-century news editor for its New York newsroom.
The ideal candidate will have five or more years of experience in online news. He or she should be adept at everything from line editing to executing wholesale rewrites, with an additional emphasis on crafting engaging and SEO-friendly story headlines.
A nose for news — in the forms of both instinct and productive use of audience analytics — will be necessary in this position, as will flexibility, enthusiasm, a collaborative nature and a sense of humor.
Those with knowledge of markets and finance, as well as topics in personal finance, will receive strongest consideration.
Familiarity with Associated Press or Wall Street Journal style is expected.
