Louisiana daily seeks oil and gas reporter

The Daily Advertiser and theadvertiser.com, Lafayette, LA, are seeking a top-notch reporter to cover oil & gas, one of the most important beats in Louisiana.

Candidates must have beat reporting or blogging experience, and, preferably, will have covered oil & gas previously. The best candidates will know how to build sources relationships and be able to shape one of the most important beats in Louisiana.

Lafayette is home to hundreds of oil services companies, who are key contributors to the community’s economic vibrancy. The best candidates are strong writers and storytellers, are able to dig deep into a story and unravel complex issues. A passion for community and public service is also key.

The oil & gas reporter will know how to write with voice and authority. The selected candidate will be a creative journalist who knows how to tell a story across multiple platforms.This reporter works with little supervision while handling some of the more difficult assignments.
