LexisNexis seeks an associate legal news editor

As a General Editor, you will monitor developments in assigned practice areas, including court cases, administrative proceedings, and legislative and regulatory actions, write news articles and oversee content creation for news production. You will help set direction and provide tactical guidance when needed. Seeking continual improvement of publication content, you’ll help your team meet their performance goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet all deadlines and overseeing production of publications in a timely manner
  • Gather news and identify relevant official documents regarding events and developments in your field
  • Write news articles for daily upload to website and inclusion in print publications
  • Suggest which developments to report and write about, validating suggestions with your team
  • Participate in and supporting marketing strategy with regard to particular publications
  • Review all available analytics of web-based usage of content to help drive content focus

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field
  • Ability to work Eastern Time Zone hours (Philadelphia)
  • Experience with hard news reporting, media or publishing industry knowledge
  • Demonstrate good reporting and writing skills that meet critical deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills to manage and complete multiple priorities
  • Strong communication skills to influence an audience of legal professionals
  • Engage clearly with customers, management, marketing, and sales about specific topics
  • Show initiative to work independently as well as within a team
  • Ability to network with attorney sources, use online and other resources to gather information
