Law360 seeks a senior reporter to cover the legal industry

Law360 is seeking a senior reporter to cover the legal industry. This reporter will write regular news analyses and features, contextualizing major court rulings as well as federal and state regulation and enforcement actions. This reporter will be expected to develop a deep understanding of the beat and a reliable roster of sources. Training will also be provided.

Required:

  • At least two years of full-time, paid reporting experience

  • Demonstrated reporting and writing skills

Preferences:

  • Experience covering the legal industry, including law firms, legal associations and regulators, alternative legal service providers, in-house legal departments, legal technology, litigation funding and judicial issues.

  • Experience reporting for a legal audience

  • Experience working a beat

Qualified candidates will be asked to complete writing and reporting tests electronically.

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
