Essential Functions:
* Develop and pitch new story ideas for Kiplinger.com and related properties
* Report and write assigned stories, using a network of trusted sources, to craft content that serves existing audiences and attracts new ones
* Take ownership of an established portfolio of popular content requiring frequent curation, with an eye toward maintaining and improving search rankings
* Produce email newsletters, web content and other features using a range of software and publishing platforms
Desired Experience and Skill Sets:
* Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a fast-paced digital editorial environment, ideally working in collaboration with print properties as well
* Ability to navigate content management systems and make the most of their functionality to enhance individual pieces of content
* Keen understanding of and appreciation for the details of core personal-finance topics such as credit and debt, home ownership, insurance, budgeting, college financing, careers, retirement, taxes, and more
* Ability to write with clarity about complex personal-finance topics and to distill complicated issues to their essence
* Unflinching nature in the face of daily deadlines and urgent updates
* Comfortable using different writing styles that can vary with publication
* A familiarity with SEO best practices and analytics-driven content strategy
* A passion for engaging with audiences on and sharing content across social media
* Voice talent and experience working on podcasts or other audio a plus
* A commitment to quality, timeliness, and accuracy
