International Business Times seeks national editor

July 13, 2015

Posted by Chris Roush

The International Business Times is seeking a hard-charging veteran journalist to serve as our national editor, based in our New York newsroom.

The ideal candidate is obsessed with politics and policy, brings a fierce commitment to accountability reporting and investigative work, and is equally passionate about story-telling and long-form narrative.

The national editor will oversee our 2016 campaign report while also running coverage on the environment, immigration, civil rights, law enforcement and other areas of compelling interest.

The national editor will inherit a small team of high performing writers while also recruiting an expanding team of correspondents to be located throughout the United States.

Must have several years of reporting experience with excellent work in hand, plus at least two years of high-level editing experience. Ability to juggle multiple assignments, package Web stories, mentor young writers and work collegially with a growing team of digital journalists a must.

If interested, please send clips, resume and a one-page statement on how you would attack the job — which areas of coverage you would seek to own — to managing editor Mark Bonner at m.bonner@ibtimes.com.
