Inc. seeks a staff writer in San Francisco

Inc.com is looking for a full-time staff reporter to cover technology and startups and entrepreneurs.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter and a thoughtful, opinionated and articulate writer who can help our readers understand what the news in the world of business all means for them. The job is based in the Bay Area.

Duties include: 
• Blogging the news
• Reporting features
• Writing analysis posts

Requirements:
• Great writing skills
• Excellent news judgment
• Talent for dot-connecting
• Passion for the web
• Keen interest in building a voice and journalistic brand
• Knowledge of entrepreneurship, a plus
• Contacts in the tech industry/startup scene, a big plus
• 2 years’ experience in business journalism or equivalent

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
